He has worked as a Post Doctorate Fellow at the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) and has a Ph.D. in Political Science from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. He has a significant amount of experience working in the academic and research fields on a variety of issues. His specialization areas are Minority Politics, International Relations, and Social Exclusion.

Shantesh Kumar Singh is a Professor at the Centre for International Politics, Organisation and Disarmament, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He has worked as a Professor in the Department of Political Science at Central University of Haryana, Mahendergarh. He has done MPhil/Ph.D. from School of International Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. He has worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow on Global Health at the International Institute for Global Health (IIGH), United Nations University, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He is also a Managing Editor at the South-East Asia office of the International Association for Counter-terrorism and Security Professionals (IACSP-SEA).
