The present study aims at analyzing and evaluating the role that human resources play in the green economy, in consideration of two important documents that the Foundation for Sustainable development and ENEA have released last years. The industrialized countries have been affected by a slowdown in the growth of energy demand, that according to the EU standards is equivalent to 0.4% per year, developing countries, on the contrary, have experienced a rapid increase of energy demand, in fact, for the year 2030 it is estimated that more than a half of the energy demand will come from developing countries, compared to the 40% which is happening today. The energy sector is responsible for about two-thirds of global emissions of greenhouse gases. The target goal of reducing global emissions through the halving of those as compared to 1990, it has happened that, in the last twenty years, emissions have grown by more than 40%. The fight against climate change whose potentially catastrophic effects are evident today, are probably the biggest challenge of our times that you should be faces and won though the use of renewable energy sources aiming at reducing dependence on energy imports.
